Annual General Members Meeting

 

The 30th Annual General Members meeting together with the annual meeting of the Society of Friends of the Airborne Museum will take place on the morning of Saturday 27 March 2010 in the Concert Hall, Rozensteeg 3, Oosterbeek, starting at 10.30am.

 

The agenda is as follows:

            2.         Minutes of the Annual Members meeting of 8 April 2009

            3.         General Report 2009

            4.         Financial Report 2009

            5.         Report by Finance Committee

            6.         Budget for 2010

            7.         Management election

            8.         Appointment of Finance Committee reserve member

            9.         Questions - A.O.B.

            10.       Close

 

Points 3 & 4: The General and Financial reports will be available for inspection 30 minutes before the Meeting opens, at the hall entrance.

 

Point 7: This year sees the routine resignation of Ben Kolster and Gerard Gijsbertsen. Both offer themselves for re-election. In accordance with Article 8 of the Foundation Statutes, members can propose alternative candidates. Nominations for these positions must be delivered to the Secretary of the SFAM in writing not later than 10 days before the meeting, signed by not less than 10 members and accompanied by a certificate of acceptance by the candidate, who must be a member of the Society and of adult age.

 

Approx 12.00 midday: Closure of the Annual General meeting. Lunch pause until 13.30hrs. You are asked to arrange or your own lunch. The Concert Hall does not have these facilities.

 

At 13.30hrs the afternoon programme starts. This consists of a walking tour led by our UK representative, Niall Cherry. The central theme of this 'Medical Walk' is the role of the Royal Army Medical Corps during the Battle of Arnhem. We will visit a number of places in Oosterbeek, where hospitals or medical posts were established, such as the vicarage next to the Old Church (home of the ter Horst family), the Pietersberg, the Tafelberg, the Paasberg school, Schoonoord and Vreewijk.
